Quick answer
WARDOGS pages track WARDOGS testing through pre-alpha sessions, an August 7-9 Closed Alpha, and an August 21-23 Closed Beta. Preordering either Steam edition was described as the guaranteed Closed Beta route, while Steam Playtest access was limited and random.
Testing access is not the same thing as owning the Early Access release.
Which access route mattered?
| Route | What it meant |
|---|---|
| Steam preorder | The August 2026 preorder offer included Closed Beta access. |
| Steam Playtest request | Limited random allocation. |
| Community signup | Developer-run recruitment path for broader testing. |
| Twitch Drops | Viewing rewards tied to campaign terms. |
| Third-party key offers | Safest only when verified through official channels. |
Did playtest progress carry over?
Early test progress should be treated as temporary until the current test terms say otherwise. Official pre-alpha wording treated early Cash as a test-state resource because the game was still changing.
Each future cosmetic, flag, or Early Access account item needs its own test or season rule.
Could players share footage?
WARDOGS pages say the public Closed Beta NDA was lifted for player clips and streams, while separate ETP-style tests remained under their own restrictions.
The practical rule is to read the terms for the exact test. A lifted NDA for one public Beta applies to that program's stated sharing rules.
Risk checks for test access
- Treat a Playtest request as an application path.
- Buy access through official or trusted storefront routes.
- Install clients through Steam or official test instructions.
- Read Twitch Drops as campaign rewards with their own terms.
- Treat test balance as build-specific.
- Check each test's access and confidentiality terms.
